Christian Weekday Religious Education Breakfast Club (CWRE Breakfast Club)
What is The CWRE Breakfast Club?
The Christian Weekday Religious Education Breakfast Club, CWRE, is a new club in the Plainfield elementary schools that was designed to replace WRE, Weekday Religious Education. Prior to Covid, WRE was offered to 4th grade students. Parents gave their consent for their child to be released one day a week for an hour of religious education. The WRE program was canceled in 2020 due to Covid. However, The Plainfield School Board has approved a new club, The CWRE Breakfast Club, which is a new format for the old WRE.
What will be taught at the CWRE Breakfast Club?
The CWRE Club will teach Biblical Christian lessons and character education by volunteers who love to share their faith. The Bible, music, fun object lessons, games and discussion will be used to teach these valuable lessons.
Who can attend The CWRE Breakfast Club?
This year, 2023, the club will be offered to all 4th and 5th grade students in the Plainfield Schools. 5th graders could not attend WRE in the past so we want to give them the opportunity to join the CWRE Club. However, in the Fall of 2024 the program will only be offered to 4th grade students.
Where and When will CWRE be held?
Starting in September the Club will meet for the full school year one morning a week starting promptly at 7:45 AM. Clarks Creek will host students on Tuesdays for Clarks Creek and Brentwood. Central will host students on Fridays for Central and Van Buren. Guildford will host its own students on Thursday mornings. At 8:30 the students will be released for breakfast.
How will my child get to the school for the CWRE Club?
Parents will bring their child to the host school and drop them off at the designated entrance where they will be greeted and escorted to the CWRE Club. Adults will escort the students back to their home school cafeterias in time for breakfast prior to the start of school.
Who will pay for my child’s breakfast?
The Plainfield Church Federation is supporting the CWRE Breakfast Club and will cover the expense of breakfast for all students who attend.
