What is Christian Weekday Religious Education or CWRE?
Christian Weekday Religious Education is a legally state sanctioned opportunity for your child to be released during school hours one day a week for Christian religious education. You may recall that for many years the Plainfield Schools, in conjunction with the Plainfield Federation of Churches, offered WRE or Weekday Religious Education. Unfortunately, in 2020 due to Covid WRE was canceled. The Good news is that release time for religious education is BACK! The program now being offered and sponsored by the Plainfield Federation of Churches is now called Christian Weekday Religious Education (CWRE).
What will be taught at CWRE?
CWRE will teach Biblical Christian lessons and character education by volunteers who love to share their faith. The Bible, music, fun object lessons, games and discussions will be used to teach these valuable lessons.
Who can attend CWRE?
4th Grade Students Only
Where and When will CWRE be held?
Guilford: Students will be released weekly on Thursdays at 10:30. They will ride vans over to Center Community Church located at 5938 S. County Rd 700 E., and be returned to school by vans at 11:45.
Clarks Creek: Students will be released weekly on Thursdays at 1:10. They will ride vans over to the Plainfield Friends Church, 105 S. East St., and be returned to school by vans at 2:30.
Brentwood: Students will be released weekly on Thursdays at 2:00. They will ride vans over to the Plainfield Friends Church, 105 S. East St., and be returned to school by vans at 3:30.
Van Buren: Students will be released weekly on Thursdays 1:10 and will walk to the Plainfield Friends Church, 105 S.East St. located next to Central Elementary School. They will walk back & return to school at 2:30.
Central: Students will be released weekly on Thursdays at 2:00 and will walk to the Plainfield Friends Church, 105 S.East St. located next to Central Elementary School. They will walk back & return to school at 3:30.
CWRE Classes will begin in August
All parents will be notified in August of when the classes will begin and of any changes and notifications by email.

Accepting Enrollments NOW & each year starting in May throughout the summer and school year. Please register your child ASAP at following the link:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND DISCLOSURES
The release form will be forwarded to the principals at your child’s school. By completing this form, you are acknowledging that your child once released is no longer in the care of the school but is in the care of the CWRE team. You are giving your permission and making your request known that you want your child to be released to attend CWRE at the designated locations above. You are also acknowledging that your child will either walk or be transported by vans to and from the locations noted above.
If at any time you want your child to stop attending CWRE you need to notify us in writing by completing a withdrawal form. Once your child is signed up for CWRE they must attend unless you notify us otherwise. The schools will not allow them to be held back if they are signed up for the program. Please make sure your child is aware of this.
